Hello Hello, Lil Buns!
This past Monday, I went out with some of my coworker friends! We've been planning this day out for a long time but couldn't find a good day that we're all free. So finally that day came!
We all decided to meet up for noon to visit one of my favorite places~
If you've never heard of it, it's a sweet little tea house in the theme of Alice in Wonderland. All of the menu items are named after something from the book. And the decor makes it feel like you're actually in a Wonderland. There are three different locations in Manhattan but you can also visit their online shop!
It's a great place to dress up and visit. I hear this place is especially a favorite for Lolitas~
Each table is already decorated with utensils, mismatched teacups, salt, pepper, sugar and even mason jars for water.
You may not be able to see it but my cup is filled with the Rose Melange tea with milk. So it turned as white as the cup XD It was so good and flowery! In it was organic white teas, roses, lavender,
botanicals, and peppermint.
The scones are beautifully presented on a little paper doily with a side of jam and cream. The chocolate chip one was so good with the cream!
One of the girls got this gorgeous cupcake! It's a dark chocolate cake with Real! strawberry buttercream and strawberry pieces on top. It tasted so fresh and not processed at all~
After we got our fill (we were really full!), we headed on out to do some walking. We didn't really have a plan of where to go but it was a nice day so we walked as far as we could before finding a train.
It soon got to be too hot to stay out in the sun and the subway was nowhere near but we did see a Dylan's Candy Bar! We took a break from the horrible heat inside the wonderful air conditioned building. There were so many yummy things and I had to take a pic with the giant chocolate bunny!
Too bad it's not actually edible XD
This location is actually 3 floors but the top was a restaurant so we only visited the basement and the main floor. Check out the stairs!
Thank you, Dylan's XD
After the girls did some shopping (I didn't buy anything here), we went back out to find a train. We knew we had to start moving a little faster because there was a really bad thunderstorm coming. It was finally decided that we should visit Blick Art Store. Finally found a train and made our way over.
It's always so fun to browse art stores. And I wasn't planning on buying anything but for some reason, I kept looking at the watercolor paints. It might be because I miss painting or because I follow a lot of artists on Instagram that use it. I really didn't give it a chance when I was in school because most of my professors didn't let me be free as I wanted to. But after debating and mostly my friends pushing me to do it, I bought a few supplies.
And I'm so glad they made me! I bought a good pencil, kneaded eraser, watercolor pad and paints!
Here are my first works! They're not the best but I'm loving it. I'm going to make sure to practice and hopefully add it to the shop~

A quick shot of the take-out menu
I was a little upset that we weren't able to get crepes as that was a brunch item only (brunch is only on weekends when it's most crowded). But oh well. I ended up getting the 2 scones and tea combo. I had a chocolate chip scone, a banana nut scone and my tea was the Rose Melange with some milk. It was all very tasty. And the tea was nice and light.
