Strands of Beauty: Gothic Lolita Wigs Review { 06-10-2012 }

Hello again! How is everyone today? I still can't believe next month is already July! And at the end of July is Otakon in Maryland! This year I will be doing one cosplay this time around and dressing in full Loli the rest of the time. I will be Natalia from the PS2 game Tales of the Abyss with my dear friends as Asch and Ion (with hopefully a Regretta). I know I said in the past I would be doing three but unfortunately that changed. But oh well, more time for Loli and Natalia!

Until I started going to anime and video game cons, I never knew how serious it was for cosplayers and how they prepare their ensembles. Now that I'm more into crafting and doing more art on a daily basis, I go by cosplays that I know I can do a few adjustments on by myself. Which is pretty fun especially if the outcome is very nice.

But one thing I know I can't do myself is a wig. And that's where the internet becomes my best friend. One of the shops I love to look at - because not only do they have tons of different styles but also many different colors - and that's ♥ Gothic Lolita Wigs ♥. Whether you want to just have a natural styled look or something to go with your Lolita, this is a really good shop to check out.

The first of the two wigs I bought is mostly for my Natalia cosplay but it's just so adorable, I plan to also use it for when I dress up. In their shop it's from one of their latest additions called the Sweetheart Collection and mine in particular is in the "Milk Tea" color. It's not quite a blonde but also not quite a brunette either.

It is a very light and delicate color that actually resembles tea with milk in it. The style is more towards the bob but with more curl and bounce. It's definitely great for a summer style if you feel like having short hair that day.

The second is one I bought because I love pink hair and I just wanted more hair options with style and color. This one is from the Spiral Collection and it's called "Pinkie". It's much longer than the Sweetheart one but has just as much bounce and curls to it. It's also very cute and PINK! The strands are plentiful and give a full body effect and other than the color being a bright pink, I could probably pull this off as natural hair.

Both wigs came in a secure package and safely wrapped together so even in transport, my order was safe. Each came in their own bag in a net so I can put them away without worrying about storage. The wigs themselves are made of fine quality and look like they always keep their shape (the transport proved that fact). They also have a brilliant shine so I can't wait to take photos out in the sun!

My overall shopping experience was great. They are friendly and answer any questions you might have. Their wigs are true to the photo and come with wig caps (which are important!). And I just love the site and the look and feel of the wigs. So I will definitely order from them again!

Thank you, Gothic Lolita Wigs!

Until next time~

For Your Classic Loli Needs - Anna House Fashion Review { 06-06-2012 }

Hi all! Hope you're doing well! Happy Middle of the Week! I feel so much better now that I post twice a week. I don't feel as stressed out in trying to get all of my posts in week after week. And plus, you guys get to hear about nice stores and hopefully find new places to shop? This week is on my very first pair of ♥ Anna House Fashion ♥ shoes!

As you all know, I am planning to do quite a bit of cosplay this year at Otakon and one of them will be the school uniform version of Stocking from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. For those of you that never watched the show, it's a very funny (very pervy) and sometimes serious show about these two angels as they fight bad spirits and earn their way back into heaven...literally. Stocking is the Lolita of the two so she is always dressing in pretty frills and always eating yummy sweets. I won't do a cosplay post yet until it gets closer to Otakon and I will give you guys a sneak peek.

This was my first time buying shoes in Asian sizing so I was very scared that I would order something too small on accident. But emailing Anna House eased my worries and they helped me choose the right size. They accept PayPal and a lot of their stuff has a wide range of sizes.  Most can be re-sized if you ask and pay a little extra. (Ordering from this place made me very happy!)

The package came relatively quick which was pretty good considering it was coming from China. When I opened it, I was a little scared because of the slight dents into the shoebox. I really wish the Postal Service would be more careful with packages...

In any case, I checked inside the box only to discover the shoes were very well protected. Bubble wrap was tightly wound around them and there was paper inside to support the shoe from the inside so it wouldn't get smooshed.

And here they are! These are low-heel Lolita-style shoes in black with a white trim. They remind me of the edges of a frilly apron! They have two straps which are secured by silver heart-shaped buckles and are topped off with medium-sized black bows in the front.

The heel is low enough so that even if you are on your feet all day long, the shoes won't bother you as much. I also found that they give you enough room to wear slightly thicker socks, like the ones I'm wearing in the photo.

What's also great about them is that they have a simple yet sweet design so it can go with almost all types of Lolita fashions. I think they would look especially great with classic. I also love the fact that they have a real heel sound when you walk in them.

I can definitely find myself shopping from Anna House again, not just for shoes but for their clothes as well. I can use PayPal, they can alter their sizes and everything is at a great, affordable price. And most of their styles are practical for work (especially if you can't show up in a sweet JSK with a large dessert print).

So, a very big thank you to Anna House for their helpful and fast service and their very cute stuff!

Until next time~

Let's Have a Fairy Kei Teaparty: Kittywood Designs Review { 6-03-2012 }

Today I have another awesome review for you today! It's for the Etsy shop ♥ Kittywood Designs ♥. I just happened to catch sight of the store when I was going through my Etsy emails and saw these adorable teacups! I instantly fell in love.

Kattie, the owner of Kittywood, has an amazing and a huge variety of different designs. And she has more than just teacups - like necklaces, charms and even cell phone cases. Each one is a different design and oh so cute. I also discovered that she can do custom designs.

I asked her about it and she showed me different designs she has done and let me tell you - the choices and combinations are pretty much near endless.All I had to do was tell her what I wanted for both the teacup itself and what I wanted on said teacup. Of course I went with all things super cute. I said bunnies, horses, bows, stars, hearts, straws and cute little beads for extra shine all on white "icing" in a blue teacup. I didn't even have an idea of how it would come out and thought she might have thought I was crazy. xD But nope, I am not crazy (well, maybe a little). She was able to make the most adorable carousel design ever!

 Front and back views:

It is definitely something a Loli dreams of. The teacup is a cute baby blue color with heart designs, and yes it does sit on a little plate. The decorations are in sweet colors of yellows, pinks and purples. As I said, there are bows, stars, little beads and rhinestone-like shiny beads. Sitting at the top is a larger bow with a cute little pink bunny, an ice cream cone and two carousel horses with the straws as the poles of the horses. All of this is sitting in the white "icing" in the teacup that is securely-fastened to an alligator clip. It does have a little weight to it but it's not enough to give a headache and I can make sure it's still there when I'm wearing a wig.

The second item I bought from her and fell in love with is the Fairy Kei Pastel Transparent Balloon Hair Clip. I saw it when I was looking through her teacup designs and was so happy when she had the balloon hair clip listed separately!

I'm not sure what the balloons themselves are made of but it's a lightweight clip. Each balloon is a different color with four of the five being stars and the one in the middle is a slightly bigger moon. It really does look like someone holding a bunch of different balloons with the base. The stem has a white polka-dotted purple ribbon and is attached to a secure alligator clip.

I am very happy with my purchases from Kittywood Designs. It was a great transaction and she made it super easy and painless so that I could get my custom design 100%. And she did just that! So I would definitely buy from her again in the future! Thank you, Kattie!

You all should definitely check out her shop if you're looking for sweet deco and Fairy Kei stuff. Kattie is super sweet and a great designer. I highly recommend her!

Until Next Time~
