☆Mardi Gras Came to Me!☆

Hello Hello, Lil Buns!

Omg you guys. I have to share this with you.

I love to spoil my loved ones. I don't ask for things in return because I just love to see the other person smiling from ear to ear. And when they feel good, that makes me feel good too.

Day At the Museum! (Photo Heavy Post!)

Hiyo lil bunnies~!

(See what I did there with the title? XD )

Recently, a couple of friends and I went to the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan! We were originally going to check out the butterfly exhibit before it closed for the season but we were too late. :< The museum has live butterflies floating around for the springtime but the last day was May 25th. We were able to get there on the 28th. Bummer.

But instead, we decided to use our passes to go see a couple of the other special exhibits. The one we ended up going to was Life at the Limits. It started with a small movie clip at the beginning that showed how animals adapt to the changing environment in the most extreme ways. Then you got to walk down a path that showed a lot of the different animals and insects and how they adapt to survive.

Here are some of the photos I took!

Did you know that plant life at the bottom of the ocean have a special way of reproducing?! According to the guide, there is only one full moon every year where tons of eggs and sperm are released into the water! And when they meet, they float back down and start growing!

I love these little guys! There were actual live Axolotl in a tank! Isn't he a cutie? X3

More after the cut! <3

I'M GONNA WRECK IT! - Wreck It Ralph Review [11-05-2012]

I am so happy! After a week of being stuck inside because of Hurricane Sandy, I was able to go out with some of my friends for an awesome evening. We went to a local theater and finally saw "Wreck It Ralph"! (I had been dying to see it since it was announced~)

Honestly, even if you're not a fan of CGI movies, this movie was a definite must-see for any fan of video games (or for the child at heart). I have to say, it's definitely one of Disney's more fun movies and it had catchy music too.

"Wreck It Ralph" is about a bad guy character that has a large ape-like body that likes to destroy things in the arcade game "Fix It Felix" (it kind of reminded me of a mix between Handy Manny and Bob the Builder lol). But later on we find out that Ralph doesn't want to be a bad guy anymore, something he admits to his fellow bad guys at what appears to be a AA-type of group meeting.

The townspeople from the game think Ralph is crazy and basically force him on a journey to prove himself and bring back something every gamer longs for...the winning game medal. He meets characters from all types of games, which makes me really appreciate the knowledge that Disney has about video game history. We even get to see cameos of characters from games like Street Fighter, Sonic the Hedgehog, Q-Bert and so many more.

The movie itself is really vibrant and just overall fun. I like serious movies but I'm glad when a movie is done well and is a lot of fun for people of all ages. My friends and I are older than some of the people that were in the theater but we enjoyed it just as much as the kids did!

I loved the fact that so many things from my childhood were in that one movie. I've been a gamer since I was very little with my mom's old Atari and this movie had so many things that I loved growing up. It was such an awesome movie - I would go see it again!

I can honestly say that I loved all of the characters and the soundtrack just matched the settings perfectly. And for all of you Japanese music fans out there, AKB48 sang one of the songs (which is fitting since many video games are made in Japan)!

The messages in this movie really stood out to me. Themes about never giving up, always follow your dreams and always be yourself - things that I believe in. It was just pure awesome. I won't say anymore about what happens in the movie because it really is something that must be seen. So definitely check it out!

Until next time~

Sweet Sunday: Faraway Friends [10-21-2012]

Friends come from many different places. Some you might even find in places you would never think they would be. And it can be sad when you can't hang out with them all the time.

Luckily for us, there are many ways to communicate. I always talk on Skype with my boyfriend. With my friends, I can talk to them through Facebook, Twitter, email and my personal favorite - writing letters (on very cute stationary of course!). It's more personal and you can decorate your letters any way you want. I also like to include little gifts when I can. I have friends in Europe, in other states and even just the next town over that I like to write to. I used to write often to friends when I was younger but now I am back into it and it's pretty fun!

One of the best parts about writing letters is finding cute stationary to use.You can find some really cute paper and other essentials on sites like ♥ Kawaii Shop ModeS4U ♥ and ♥ CoolPencilCase ♥.

Do you have any pen pals?

A Twinkle in the Dark: Lolita Dark CD Review! [ 08-22-2012 ]

Hello, lil bunnies! Today is a new "What's In the Box Wednesday". Inside the box are a lot of goodies from my new favorite band - Lolita Dark! If you are looking for good and pure rock music with a mix of Japanese and English, then this band is for you.

A few weeks ago, a Twitter user had contacted me with a direct message, asking me if I wanted to hear some of her friend's band's work. I said sure, why not! I am so glad she did. I have been hooked since then.

Lolita Dark is a rock band from California. (And they dress in Gothic Lolita too! I love it!) It consists of: two Japanese singers - Ray (Vocals/Guitar) and May (Vocals/Keyboard), Rain Balen (Bass), Patrick Cabrera (Lead Guitar) and Joey Felix (Drums).

More often times than not, whenever I buy a CD I'm disappointed and only like maybe 2-3 songs out of a CD that's holding at least 10 songs. I am very happy to say that this is not the case here.

Tokyo Status, Lolita Dark's first album, displays a very good portfolio of the variety the band shows they can do. When looking for music in the rock genre, my biggest problem is finding something with a good melody and guitar that can keep up with the drums and the vocals. I love the fact there is harmony and it's beautiful.

The tracks on the CD are:

Zesshou
All Tyranny
Who's the One
Death to Iris
Insane
Legacy
Girls
Nothing At All
Tokyo Status
Mad Times

They're all really great tracks. Though if I had to choose my top favorite, it would probably have to be a tie between "Zesshou" and "Legacy". "Zesshou" just has the most catchy sound and I always find myself singing along to it. And "Legacy" makes me want to make an AMV.

Along with the CD, I also got a thank you card written by actual members of the band, business cards and this gorgeous signed poster! I am super happy with the package they sent me. And it feels so personal too! I feel very lucky to actually have been in contact with them because they're so nice and the friend that introduced me to them is just as sweet.

So definitely check them out! You can hear samples of their songs and more on their site ♥ Lolita Dark ♥.

Thank you so much, Lolita Dark! I wish you guys all the best and make your dreams come true.

Until Next Time~
