Free Talk Fridays~

That sounds like a catchy name, doesn't it? xD

So, as promised, I am posting on Fridays as well. This day of the week is basically to talk about anything. And I do encourage people to comment or ask me questions. =3

Today I would like to talk about advertising and the necessity for clarification. I'm sure many of us by now have seen the Coca Cola commercial with the Polar Bears. In the commercial, it says that if you get a Coke with the white cap, you will be helping the gorgeous bears by donating. Now I'm not sure if I heard wrong, though I'm pretty sure I was paying attention, it's not just buying the drink and you're donating.

It says on the bottle itself that you will see a code under the cap and you have to text that code to a certain number so that you can donate a dollar to help save the Polar Bears. That isn't how I heard it on the commercial. It made me a little upset as I thought it would at least be half of the money from buying the soda. =(

Did that happen to anyone else? What are your thoughts on this?

Until next time~

Back on Track with a Few Changes~

Hello!

I'm pretty sure those that have been reading my blog usually see a post called "Inspirational Wednesdays" but after some thought, I think I am going to change my blogging schedule. I plan to post on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Sundays will be my days of inspiration, Wednesdays will be when I talk about items I have seen, have or received and Friday is pretty much free to talk about anything. So let's go ahead and get started, shall we? =)

Recently, I placed a purchase with one of my favorite bloggers, Sweet Suzette! She's an awesome person with a very cute blog and always shares adorable things with her readers. She also has her own Etsy store and makes her own accessories! So when she came out with her latest creations, I had to buy one of her hats.

I was able to pay her through PayPal (which is awesome) and I got my order in record time! It arrived earlier this week and I took a few pictures. My camera does not do this gorgeous hat justice but at least you guys can see it on her post Cake Hats and Tea Cup Hats!

Here is the box (I blurred out the personal information on the package) as I received it. As you can see, it's nicely packaged and the delivery did not even put a scratch on it.

I was so excited when my mom told me a box had come in the mail! Just in time for my job's Holiday Party too! (Everyone loved it X3 )

 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The box opened! The hat was snuggled safely in bubble packaging with paper to cushion it all around. Everything was nicely packed and sturdy so my cute little hat arrived with no problem. I was squealing like crazy xD

After taking out the hat, I noticed there were other things in the box! Sweet Suzette even packed some stickers and her very cute little business card. I was extremely happy with the hat but smiled even more when I saw the cute stickers. Definitely an awesome package. =)

Here is a close-up of the hat! Isn't it gorgeous? It's a sweet card theme with all of the suits of the card deck with a very nice Ace of Spades in the middle of the elegant bow. Again, my pictures can not do it justice. It has gorgeous red and black lace all around it and several beads strategically placed all around. Perhaps I will use this Friday's post to show you all more views of it and how it looks on someone's head. This is definitely one of my favorite accessories. And it's perfect for party outfits!

And finally, a close-up of all of the little stickers she included in the box. Two adorable Hello Kitty stickers, a sticker from the movie Tangled, a rose sticker and of course, the very nice business card.

I am definitely very happy with my new hat! I wore it as part of my "vintage" party outfit and it was perfect! I got so many wonderful comments that night. =3 So everyone, please be sure to visit her blog and her Etsy site! Her work is amazing. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you very much, Sweet Suzette! I love the hat! You're amazing =)

Thinking of New Things

So things look like they have quieted down some. Well, at least till Christmas comes. I haven't even really started shopping yet!

I guess it's not too much of a bad thing. I thought I had more people to get presents for but it turns out a good number of said people won't even be around for the holiday season. Oh well...

In other news, I have purchased my first Gothic & Lolita book! I feel like I took a huge step into Loli xD Sadly, I could not find any translated as I was told by one of the girls in the bookstore that the English publication of G&L were discontinued. Oh well, at least the pictures are gorgeous! The volume I purchased is #31. It also came with cute patterns for a warm panda hat, a cute AP bag and a mini hat! I can't wait to try them. =)

I had so much fun today with my friend. First we went to eat at this amazing place called "Go Go Curry" for lunch. (It's so awesome!) Then we went to Dick Blick for some art supplies. (I love going to that place even if it's just to look around.)

And finally, we walked around St. Mark's Place (in Manhattan) to find some vintage shoes for my vintage theme for my job's Christmas party this coming Tuesday ^-^ I will definitely take pictures so you guys can see!

But yeah, that's all the news I have for now. Other than that, I will try to think of some weekly post topics other than my Inspirational Wednesday (which I sadly missed this past week due to personal reasons =( Sorry!) Hopefully that will keep me on a more definite schedule for posting here =)

I Never Knew You But I Love You

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone that commented with such sweet words. It meant a lot to me. I kept those words with me, close to my heart as I took care of a very special being. That being, was my little rabbit, whom I have officially named...Hope.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
R.I.P. Hope. We love you and miss you.

As a lot of you know, I was bringing him to the vet on Saturday after having him in my home, in his very own little place for nearly a week. But let me tell those that don't know about Hope as I got to live with him. In my last post, I told the story of how my sister and her friend found a loose dog and were going to return the dog to where he came from. In doing so, they came across a sweet little bun underneath a car. He was an average-sized bun, mostly black with a few white spots. He had gorgeous long black ears and a cute little bunny puff tail. The only rabbit I have ever come into contact with, in all of my life. And was he a charmer. I took one look into those eyes and stared at that little wiggling nose, and I was in love. We immediately got him into a box and took him home.

Nearly every night, this past week, I went out to the pet store to get a bunch of different things that he would need. A nice comfy cage, a water bottle, proper bedding and even toys and a little litter bin so I could potty train him. Oh and of course, a carrier for when he would be going to the vet.

When I arrived at the vet, all of the people waiting to see the doctor were so thrilled to see a bunny. Most people around here don't really see them unless they go out to farmland and see the wild ones. I had to take him to this new vet because our normal vet only specializes in dogs and cats. This doctor was recommended to me for rabbits and it wasn't too far. So we went, everyone listened to how we were able to get a new pet rabbit. I had noticed from when I first got him, one of his legs seemed to be hurt. I hoped the vet would be able to treat it. And I wish my story would have a happy ending. Though while things didn't work out, I have learned it's not as sad as it began.

You see, Hope's back was broken. The vet handled him with care and told us that while he saw how much love he was being given, the best option for him was to put him to sleep. I was a mess when he told me that. But for someone that couldn't even go to the bathroom properly, that was no life for him. I signed the paper and said my very tearful goodbye. But now that I think about it, he seemed calm as I was petting him. As if he knew....

I cried all weekend, wondering if what I did was right. After talking with friends and family, that while it was hard to let go, it was the best thing I could do for him. It was getting cold and he was in a place he would never be able to do well on his own. So I was glad to have taken him in. I am glad that he is no longer suffering....even though I did not know about his back all week. But things have a strange way of happening. He never cried and grew to trust me. I kept him inside my home, warm, fed and very much loved. While I didn't want this to happen, deep down, everyone knew something would happen. But I guess that is because of having been very experienced in saving stray animals. It never crossed my mind that this rabbit could have had rabies or it would be vicious or something else. All I cared about was taking care of him.

I officially named him Hope on Saturday when it was realized how much we had done for each other. Every year during the holiday time, I think about how much I miss my grandmother who had passed on just a few years ago and also I had always been afraid to take care of some other animal other than a dog or a cat. I never had a rabbit before. And now I know I can do it. I like to think I gave him hope as well, because I don't know what happened to him before we found him but I gave my all to make sure he had a great life. At least for the little while we were together.

It just goes to show you that things happen for a reason. And all you need is a little hope. And this hope...will appear in places you would never think of looking. Whether it's another helping hand or a little rabbit.

I don't ever regret taking in that little rabbit. I never regret helping an animal. Because while we only knew each other for a short time, I felt it meant the world not just for the rabbit, but for me as well.

I just want to thank everyone for the kind words and the strength you have all given me to go on. And I will adopt a rabbit in the future, when I'm ready. Hope helped me believe that I can do it. And I'm sure he'll continue guiding me along. Just as all of the animals that we have cared for.

Farewell, Hope. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being a little angel sent from above to tell me everything will be alright. I hope you are having the best time ever, across the Bridge with all of the other animals there.

Love,

~ Kieli ~

Inspiring Wednesdays (and I'm back!)

Hello!

Time for another addition of "Inspiring Wednesdays"! I love this part of my blogging week. =) This week's inspiration is..................

Dorian's blog at Your Daily Cute blog!

If you ever look for an awesome site for just animal cuteness, heroic stories or even just sweet stories of people and animals helping each other, this is definitely the spot for you! I always go to her blog to get my daily dose of cuteness =)

She also saves animals she finds, makes sure to give them the best care and even lets us see the cutest videos and pictures! And because of that, some people even become inspired! I know I did.

This past Sunday, my sister and her friend came across a loose dog. He looked taken care of and was extremely friendly. The two immediately went to locate his owner. And while doing so, they came across something very uncommon in our neighborhood. Underneath a parked car, was a cute little rabbit!

Without thinking otherwise, I took matters into my own hand and scooped the little bun into a box and brought him home into a much more comfortable place. It's close to winter so it would have not been good for him. And now, as I write this post, he's sitting happily in his cage. Well, I still don't know whether it's a male or female but I will find out this coming Saturday when I get him looked at by a vet =)

I never owned a rabbit before but I am doing my homework and making sure he's getting the right food and give him the best home ever. =) But if anyone has any advice or suggestions, they are more than welcome.

Oh and the dog? We found his owner and he's safely back with the family. And I'm the proud owner of a rabbit. I will have to post pictures as I get more of them =)

So, thank you Dorian. You are this week's inspiration! You certainly have inspired me!
