Be Inspired for Your Future! [ 07-11-2012 ]

Today has been a day full of mixed emotions. I'm sure most of you have heard of the story of Lennox in Belfast, Ireland. If not, please search the news and learn of his story. I won't go into detail here because today's update is not about the negativity that surrounds the matter. But there was also the story of rabbits that had been abandoned but are not allowed to live in a particular area. And there is also of course the story of the Loews Hotel cats. While the stories themselves are very depressing but true, it does not mean we have to accept it. Instead, let's turn this whole thing around.

Following these stories via news websites, blogs and Twitter have definitely taken a toll on me. You see, my family and I are HUGE animal lovers. We cry for animals that we don't even know. We always donate when we can. And for the longest time we have picked up strays and nursed them back to full health. We have even adopted from local shelters.

Yes, it is a terrible thing to hear about. Especially if it has really bad endings that should never have happened. But that is where we come in. No one should ever have to wait until something bad happens to attempt to fix it. Because by then it's too late. It should never get to that point in the first place. But at the same time, you know now that you may have not made it in time to save a life the first time, if the issue ever comes back, you know what to do. You can always do something. And because you took that step, a life can be saved.

Animals don't have a voice of their own and need someone to stand up for them. We have a voice. We have things we can do! And I just know that in working together something is bound to happen and for the better! Learn from past mistakes. Educate. Spread the knowledge. And watch it flourish. If a tree can grow from a tiny seed, surely the same goes for a goal if we believe in it enough.

People are afraid of things they don't understand. But when they have the chance and are willing to learn, they might discover they may love it. You cannot think you know everything. As a human being, it's nearly impossible. You cannot judge if you don't know the story. And one of the most important things to remember - never assume. If you feel yourself doing this, please take a moment to do some research. With how easily accessible the internet or the library are, it will only take a few minutes.

We go to school to educate others so that the bad parts of our history are never repeated. We want everyone to have a future and one that we would want our children to have. So if something is happening, research. And if it's definitely something wrong, speak up. A ripple, even a tiny one, can start something bigger. You just have to try.

All of this has got my inspiration going. I am planning something big and you guys will be the first to hear it! I know I'm not someone that has a lot of followers but I do treasure those that I do have! And I know something great will come out of this. So please wait for it!

And until then, please, educate yourselves and do what you can so we can all have a future! Don't let it be destroyed. We can do it!

Many thanks to Raphael over at Fit By Raphael for giving me the boost I needed to make this post, to continue with everything I'm trying and to get me inspired for my future plans! :)

Until next time~

Sweet Sundays! ~ Merry Christmas Edition! ;)

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Happy Yule and Happy everything everyone celebrates! =) I hope you all enjoyed your holidays surrounded by warmth, family, loved ones and friends and share nothing but happy memories!

I know this was definitely a Christmas I will never forget...

A few posts ago, I lost my first rabbit after finding out his back was broken and had to be put down. A lot of people helped me and supported me in my time of need. So while it was taking a long time to get back on my feet, as it always does when it comes to events like this (not even after how many times I've been through it >.< ). I didn't think I was going to have that great of a Christmas. No one was really coming to our family dinner and I only planned on giving presents, I was not really caring about getting any back. I was the same way even at work. Terrible I know T^T

And let's not forget to mention that everyone kept going out without me. So I was stuck in the house most of the time. I was so upset and annoyed that things were going on without me and I just didn't want to deal with it. Till I found out why...

As it turns out, people noticed my sadness a lot more than I knew. And so, my family began to form a plan behind my back that proved to give me the best Christmas ever. This morning I woke up at 7.30 am, dragged to the kitchen and was presented with a rather large square-shaped thing on the table. I was weird-ed out at first. I lifted up the cover, in case it was a practical joke...and lo and behold....two tiny baby bunnies were in the cage. A small dark gray one and a slightly bigger white one. Both of the Dwarf breed. I broke into tears and hugged my family. They were all in on it and definitely surprised me. It really was the best Christmas ever

We have to wait till we take them to the vet to see what they are (as you can't tell the gender of baby bunnies until they hit puberty) before we can name them. =)

I also got a BabyCakes Cupcake maker which allowed me to make these beauties

My grandfather also gave me my most favorite brand of perfume, Estee Lauder - Pleasures.  And to top it all off, I was also given by my mother and sister a very funny pink shirt of two pandas. It reads "If you're happy and you know it - slap your friend" xD I love it all!

Today, Christmas, makes me think of the past years with my family. There are times when everyone is content and there are times where you just can't stand to be near your family. But they are your family no matter what. They annoy you or you annoy them to the point where you just want to leave. But it's times like these that make you greatly appreciate them, quirks and all. My family inspires me that no matter what, things happen for a reason and that there is always a silver lining, even in the darkest of times. Because if you have that love and support, not a single obstacle can stand in your way.

So I would like to thank my family, friends, loved ones and of course, my boyfriend for always being there for me. For being my inspiration. For being my reason to keep going. I love you all. And a special thank you to my dear readers and friends I met through blogging. I came to learn a great deal of new things I never knew before and heard such wonderful and inspirational words from many of you.

Thank you all for being my inspiration. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Much love, peace and good luck with tons of best wishes! =)
