1st Anime Boston 2013 - Part 3 [08-07-2013]

Hey Bunnies! Here is the final part to my Anime Boston adventure! So sad but at least Otakon is coming up in a couple of days! I'm so excited because I will be doing two cosplay!

I will be Wendy from Fairy Tail and Jasmine from Pokemon. I'm very excited about both characters. I will be in a group Pokemon cosplay with my friends! And no worries - I will definitely take photos~

We got up super early on the last day of the con because we also had to check out of our hotel. I was so sad! I really had lots of fun, especially getting all of the photos of cosplayers. I have to say again - I was really happy with seeing a lot of the older generation of video games and anime cosplay. Nostalgia sure does fit well with conventions.

Speaking of nostalgia - after a bit of waiting around, I went to check out one more panel before the con was over. This one was pretty awesome! It was I Love the 90s: Shoujo Edition, hosted by Scarlet Rhapsody. I was born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s, so I was heavily into a lot of the anime series that arrived here in the States. It was nice to see the opening animations to a lot of my favorite anime. And the room was nearly full with fans just like me!

The panel talked a lot about the different elements of what makes a Shoujo. And she used different anime series to emphasize each part. She showed series like Sailor Moon, Magic Knight Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura, Pretear, Marmalade Boy, Revolutionary Girl Utena and so many more. After the panel, it made me realize that a lot of 90s Shoujo is Mahou Shoujo, or magical girls (which I can't complain). But it does make sense since it was right after the 80s, a time where magic and fantasy flourished.

After that, I went back to the Dealer's Room one last time to see if there was anything I could get! I was happy to see names like Image Anime, Anime Castle, Funimation, Aniplex and a bunch of others. They had a lot of good merchandise! I was sad though when I made it to Image Anime only to find that they had no more Zoids model kits left. Ever since my boyfriend got me into the series, I am determined to put a Liger together myself. But luckily for me, there is a bunch of websites I can buy from so one day I will have my own!

I made a few small purchases before heading back to the Artist Alley. But one thing just made everything better! Two people were actually dressed up as Liger Zero and Bit Cloud from Zoids: New Century Zero! That just made my life! They even cuddled for another photo! I was so happy!

So I continued on my way, happier than earlier, and looked around one last time. I bought a few small things and eventually the con was slowly closing down. I stayed to help my friends pack everything up. Afterwards, we ate a late lunch and headed on our long journey home. Thankfully, the ride home was shorter than the travel to the con.

Here are my gets! (The Monster Hunter is for my boyfriend ^-^ )

But it really was a great con. It was my first Anime Boston and I was very happy! Great cosplay, great panels, great Artist Alley and Dealer's Room and just a wonderful con over all! I will definitely be coming back next year!

Well I hoped you all enjoyed my (lengthy) con report. I'll definitely post about my Otakon trip! Hope you liked the photos as well! You can find the rest of them on my ♥ Deviantart ♥ too!~ If you see yourself, please comment!

Speaking of Otakon, this will be the last post before my trip tomorrow. I will still be reachable through my other sites and my shops will still be open. And if you're going, hope to see you there!

XOXO~
