I honestly love both the sub and dub (original and new). If you grew up in the 90s like me, then you had to take what you could get with the dubs made for television. Which also included Cardcaptor Sakura, Digimon, Escaflowne and of course Sailor Moon. While between all of the series mentioned, there were a ton of episodes either butchered or just not aired, the cast for each show did make it enjoyable for back then. They may not seem that great now, but I think you could still get a kick out of them. Of course, to get the complete story, I'd just watch the original Japanese subbed. But luckily for us, anime dubbing companies are doing much better with keeping everything in the show and doing their best to pick great casts.
